Hi — I am Donna McWilliams, a licensed practical nurse. My position at Turning Point of Tampa is the Nursing Team Lead. I have worked in the addictions field since 2015 and I have been with Turning Point since 2020.
Most of my daily work is patient care. From liaison between therapists, clients, and our doctors. I supervise all medication orders from doctor, to pharmacy, to distribution to clients.
Every admission goes through a nursing evaluation where we learn about the clients’ medical needs and concerns. We schedule any tests the doctors require and address pains and discomfort.
I like working at Turning Point of Tampa because it is a family run business and not a large corporation. My nursing team and I have more time to spend individually with each client and get to know them and help them with their needs.
