The American Society of Addiction Medicine is a professional medical society that provides efficacy education, research and membership for providers of addiction services.
ASAM is dedicated to increasing access and improving the quality of addiction treatment, educating physicians and the public, supporting research and prevention, and promoting the appropriate role of physicians in the care of patients with addiction.
What Certifications does ASAM Offer for Adult Residential Programs?
Currently the certification offered covers adult residential programs that treat those suffering from addiction at levels 3.1, 3.5, and 3.7 of the ASAM criteria.
What is Turning Point of Tampa’s ASAM Certification?
The ASAM Level of Care certification held by Turning Point of Tampa is residential level 3.5.
This certification establishes a process for validation of our treatment program’s abilities. Having the certification guarantees that Turning Point of Tampa meets certain standards, builds industry transparency and increases the confidence of clients seeking treatment at our facility.
The certification held by Turning Point of Tampa provides an independent assessment of our programs’ ability to deliver the services consistent with the criteria developed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Since 1987, Turning Point of Tampa has been a family-owned facility focused on 12-Step oriented, quality care for men and women 18 years or older. Located on one campus, our programs feature highly credentialed staff providing real structure, teaching clients how to practice 12-Step principles, in a licensed, residential setting where group counseling is the keystone.
